In a wonderful surprise announcement just prior to the holiday season, Target will unveil plans to open a flexible-format store in the Redstone Shopping Center.
The concept behind Target’s flexible formats is simple: The company thinks the new design will more easily reach shoppers who don’t have time to travel to a larger venue for a mid-week stock-up trip. Another key benefit? The smaller urban stores provide customers with additional pickup points for online orders, something crucial to competing with Amazon and other large online-only retailers.
