The Chamber has announced the recipients of its 2017 scholarships for high school seniors. This year, the Scholarship Committee has chosen three winners; one recipient each for our Kathleen E. Bray Scholarship, our John F. Mahoney Scholarship, and our Chamber Business Scholarship.
The Kathleen E. Bray Scholarship honors former Chamber member, Director and past President of the Board of Directors, Kathleen E. Bray. Kathleen devoted much of her life to serving her community through the Chamber and other Stoneham organizations. She loved music and spent her life sharing her love of the arts through education and production. This year’s recipient is Madison Columbus, a graduate of Stoneham High School, and daughter of Chamber member Stephen Columbus, Atty.
The John F. "Jack" Mahoney Scholarship honors the dedication that Jack exhibited through his strong business ethic in his work in laboratory construction and his numerous volunteer efforts in the community. The 2017 award is presented to Ashley Buggy, a 2017 graduate of Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, and daughter of Chamber member Barbara Buggy of Comfort Keepers In-Home Care.
The Chamber Business Scholarship is primarily awarded to a student who intends to purse a business career upon entering college. The 2017 recipient is Kris Haddad, a Stoneham High School Senior and son of Nadia Haddad of Chamber member Salem Five.
