The Chamber attended the North Shore Alliance for Economic Development's June 14 speaker session featuring Francois-Laurent Nivaud, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism (MOTT). The chamber sought additional opportunities in making Stoneham more of a destination for tourism dollars for Stone Zoo, Stoneham Theatre, its fast-growing restaurant scene, Middlesex Fells, Spot Pond waterfront, etc.
A leader in the Massachusetts hospitality industry, Director Nivaud has led MOTT since 2016 and is responsible for promoting Massachusetts as a leisure and business travel destination for domestic and international markets. His presentation was heavily focused on the need for increased collaboration among regional tourism associations and business associations such as chambers of commerce.
