The MWRA (Massachusetts Water Resources Authority) has begun its redundant water main construction project for the installation of a 4-foot diameter pipeline within the town of Stoneham.
Timing: Construction activity will increase as the weather improves. Work is Monday through Friday, typically from 7:00am to 5:00pm. This phase of the project is expected to continue for 1-1/2 years, through to summer of 2018.
Location: The project starts at the intersection of Main and North Streets, and will proceed up North Street to Oak Street. Soon, a work crew will begin operations at Lindenwood and Cottage Streets, also heading toward Oak Street.
Detours: Daily detours will be encountered. The Main detour is for use of William Street to Lee Street to Forest Street to North Street.
