Greater Boston Stage Company (formally Stoneham Theatre) was selected as one of 10 non-profits in the state set to achieve the Universal Participation (UP) Designation status in 2018 from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). The UP Designation status is bestowed on organizations that work to include full civic participation in the cultural sector of the Commonwealth.
Greater Boston Stage Company has grand visions for capital and programmatic improvements to make their offerings accessible to all, starting with the installation of an entryway ramp to their lobby. Melissa deFriesse, Director of Development, says that “Fundraising for the ramp began this past summer, and we are continuing to apply for funding to make this project possible. We anticipate reaching our ramp fundraising goal this spring and expect construction of the ramp to take place this summer.”
