Last Thursday, the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce was thrilled to have the Greater Boston Stage Company return to the Concert Series after a two-year hiatus. The evening of music, “Sounds from Center Stage,” featured Broadway favorites and was dedicated to Pat Kilty for her years of service to both organizations and the town.
During intermission, a brief ceremony was held for Pat celebrating her role as a catalyst for positive change and growth in Stoneham for the past 35 years. Among her contributions are participating in the small group that envisioned the Town Common and brought it to fruition; serving as an original member of the Stoneham Redevelopment Cooperation to improve Stoneham Square that later became the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce; serving as the Chamber’s first Executive Director; and volunteering on the team that organized the first Stoneham Town Day. Pat currently serves as board member of the theatre, a member of the Stoneham Garden Club and an appointed member of the Stoneham Human Rights Commission.
Those in attendance to honor Pat were Greater Boston Stage Company Board President Shanna Cahalane, State Representative Michael Day, State Senator Jason Lewis and Stoneham Select Board Member Raymie Parker. The Stoneham Chamber in partnership with the Town of Stoneham planted a Japanese lilac tree on the Town Common as a small token of gratitude and to symbolize the strength and grace Pat has demonstrated in every endeavor she has taken on.
This Thursday the Chamber welcomes Devri, an exciting and dynamic Irish band to close out this year’s Concert Series. Attendees are asked to arrive before 6:30pm for a Purple Heart Recognition Ceremony to celebrate Stoneham’s heroes hosted by Veteran Service Agent, Melanie Mendel and the Stoneham Memorial Parade Committee.
