Stoneham has just signed a Community Compact agreement with the Baker administration. Of the three Compact focus areas, the Stoneham business community will particularly appreciate the "Competitiveness" focus area.
As reported by Middlesex East Supplement in their May 4 edition, by entering into a Community Compact, a community agrees to implement self-selected best practices. The Commonwealth agrees to fulfill a set of commitments and works to provide assistance for a community based on its chosen best practice.
The Competitiveness focus area is summarized as: "There is evidence of the continuous use of performance measures for the evaluation of how competitive the community is compared to other communities in terms of attractiveness for commercial development and housing expansion."
