Inclusive Grant Program Announced by Gov. Baker Today
More than $75 million in grants is available for small businesses impacted by COVID-19 to apply for.
The program will be administered through Mass Growth Capital Corporation with the funding focused on small businesses that employ between two and 50 people. $25 million will be directed toward businesses that did not qualify for previous MGCC grants because of a lack of revenue loss in 2020; and $50 million will be directed to businesses that reach underserved markets and historically underrepresented groups, or are minority-, women-, or veteran-owned businesses, or are owned by individuals with disabilities or who identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Chamber Survey of Businesses Provides Roadmap for Recovery
Local businesses point to direct aide as the best way to reinvigorate the local economy.
Thank you to the many businesses that took the time to complete the chamber’s economic recovery survey to determine the most pressing needs for post-pandemic economic recovery. Most respondents felt direct aide, followed by town-wide improvements to infrastructure were the most important factors. Read the report
Free Training and Intervention Procedures for Servers (TIPS) Certification Class

A free TIPS certification class is being offered at Town Hall for interested participants. TIPS is a dynamic, skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking by enhancing the fundamental “people skills” of servers, sellers and consumers of alcohol. March 15: Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield Summer Job Fair
The Boys & Girls Club is hosting a summer job fair at their Stoneham location and local businesses are encouraged to attend and host a table and promote summer openings including internships. The fair is advertised for ages 15+, but in previous years the attendees have ranged from 15 to college-aged. Participating businesses will be included in the marketing materials for the event.
