Board Committee Selection

Please select at least two committees from the list below. Ideally, we ask that you serve as chair of one of the committees you select.
Membership Growth & Retention Committee
The Membership Committee meets monthly to discuss new ideas to enhance membership growth and retention, membership benefits, and plans to implement new or enhanced membership programs. Additionally, members of this committee act as representatives and ambassadors of the Stoneham Chamber. Committee members are asked to regularly attend member functions like referral breakfasts and ribbon cuttings on behalf of the Chamber.
Community Initiatives & Advocacy Committee
Committee work for the Community Initiatives & Advocacy Committee includes overseeing the Downtown Merchant Groups and pursuing initiatives including transportation options for Stoneham, revitalization efforts, zoning initiatives and other long term community improvement initiatives.
Marketing & Branding Committee
Committee work for this committee will largely focus on the the launch of the More Happens Here Campaign.
More Cheer Happens Here Holiday Committee
The More Cheer Happens Here Committee oversees several events through the fall and winter including Downtown Halloween Window Painting, Halloween Stroll, Tree Lighting on the Common and Holiday Craft Fair, Holiday Open House and the Holiday Parade. Committee work for these events begins in September and ends in December.
Health & Wellness Expo Committee
Committee work for the annual Health & Wellness Expo begins in December and runs through April. Meetings are held once a month initially and increase in frequency as the event nears. Committee members assist with conceptualizing the event, securing sponsorships and raffle items and giveaways.
Golf Tournament Committee
Committee work begins in January with meetings during convenient times for members. Meetings are held approximately once a month in January and increase in frequency as the event nears (typically a mid-September tournament). Committee members meet to secure golf course, caterer, menu, sponsorships, prizes, and silent auction items. All committee members solicit golfer participation. In 2014/2015, the tournament was rebranded as the Tri-Town Chambers Golf Tournament to reflect the partnership with the Wakefield/Lynnfield Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber Scholarship Committee
The Committee meets in mid-Spring to review the Chamber scholarship materials and decide upon any changes made to awards. A second meeting is called to review and rank qualified candidate submissions. A third meeting is a presentation meeting traditionally held on the Common just prior to the kick-off Summer Concert in late June. This entails a brief ceremony where scholarship recipients and their families are recognized. Photos are submitted to the press. Please note by participating in this committee employees and/or relatives become ineligible to apply for a scholarship.
Summer Concert Series Committee
Committee work begins in January with meetings in the Chamber office during convenient times for members. Meetings are held approximately once a month in January, and increase in frequency as the event nears (typically 6 consecutive Thursday evenings beginning the last week in June, and continuing through to the first week in August). The Chamber Scholarship awards are typically presented in a brief ceremony at the kick-off concert. Committee members meet to secure sponsorships, participating non-profit partners, performers, and activities/attractions to draw more participation from young families and kids. This year we introduced food at the event and we would like to continue to grow that for 2019.
Town Day Committee
Committee work begins in March with meetings during convenient times for members. Meetings are held approximately once a month in March and April, and increase in frequency as the event nears (typically second Saturday in September). Committee members meet to secure sponsorships, review exhibitor information and fees, plan publicity, and decide on activities, amusements and demonstrations.
