The Town of Stoneham is continuing its inspection of businesses’ personal property, in time for its FY 2018 revaluation, to comply with a 9-year cyclical reinspection requirement of all cities and towns by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. A business’s personal property is defined as business and professional fixtures, furnishings, machinery, and inventory used for the purposes of generating income.
Businesses that were not inspected for their personal property in early spring of 2016 can expect a visit in early 2017 by the Town’s contractor Patriot Properties, Inc. Personnel engaged in this effort will have proper identification and a letter of authorization from the Stoneham Board of Assessors.
For any questions regarding these business inspections, please contact Brian Macdonald, Stoneham Assessors Office at (781) 279-2640.
