Each year, a portion of the fundraising proceeds from Chamber events such as Town Day and our Golf Tournament, are used to fund scholarships to high school seniors planning to further their education.
The 2016 Scholarship Committee has chosen three winners; one recipient each for our Kathleen E. Bray Scholarship, our John F. Mahoney, Jr. Scholarship, and our Chamber Business Scholarship.
This year’s recipient of our Kathleen E. Bray Scholarship is Ashley Doherty, a graduate of Stoneham High School and daughter of employee Colleen Doherty of chamber member The Arbors of Stoneham. The John F. Mahoney, Jr. Scholarship is awarded to Sarah Cantwell, a 2016 graduate of Essex Technical High School, and an employee of Chamber member StonehamBank. The Chamber's Business Scholarship is awarded to Maggie Pendenza, a 2016 graduate of Mr. Alvernia High School in Newton and the daughter of Cheryl Pendenza of Chamber member RE/MAX Andrew Realty Services.
