Every year, the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce presents the Summer Concert Series. One of Stoneham’s best loved summer traditions, this popular community program is funded solely by the generosity of Chamber of Commerce members and is provided at no cost. All concerts are held at 7:00 PM and directly follow the Farmers Market on the Town Common.
The first concert on June 20 will feature Soul Jacker, an award-winning group that mashes up the old school spirit of artists like Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Prince and James Brown with the modern funk and soul of artists like Childish Gambino, Leon Bridges, Bruno Mars, Alabama Shakes and Amy Winehouse. Soul Jacker consists of New England Music Award’s 2018 Male Performer of the Year, Munk Duane (vocals/guitar), Jim Gambino (keys), Edan Dayan (bass) and Mike Levesque (drums), a group of music industry veterans, uniquely qualified to bring the authenticity of the genre. Just prior to the start of the concert, will be the Chamber Scholarship Award Presentation. The Stoneham High School Gay/Straight Alliance (GSA) will be the night’s featured community partner in celebration of National Pride Month. Main Stage tickets generously donated by the Greater Boston Stage Company will be raffled off during intermission.
The lineup for the 2019 season is as follows:
- June 27: Classic Rock with Grand Theft Audio
- July 11: Broadway Cabaret at the Greater Boston Stage Company (note: this event is held at the theater rain or shine)
- July 18: Big Band Night with Steve Taddeo and His Swing Senders
