Tree Lighting on the Stoneham Common
Sunday, November 29, 2020, 5PM
On Sunday, November 29 at 5PM, the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Town of Stoneham, will host the 17th Annual Tree Lighting on the Town Common at 5PM. Like many events being offered at this time, it has been re-imaged to allow residents to come together safely around a favorite community tradition. This year attendees may not congregate on the Town Common for health and safety reasons, but are encouraged to take advantage of the many parking spaces on Main, Central, Common and Church Streets, as well as the Town Hall parking lot and the public parking lot off of Central Street. Stoneham TV will be on hand to broadcast the event live for those who want to watch it from home.
Additionally, StonehamBank will be offering a Drive-Thru Santa at their 80 Montvale Avenue location. From 4-6pm, young people are welcome to bring their holiday wish lists to the drive-thru lane and be greeted by Santa himself in the teller window.
Businesses and residents interested in supporting the tree lighting can sponsor or adopt-a-holiday tree in honor or memory of a colleague, friend or family member and have a plaque displayed on the Common throughout the season. Event sponsorships are also available. Proceeds go to purchasing lighting each year. Please contact Megan Day at (781) 438-0001 or megan@stonehamchamber.org for more information.
This event is being offered as part of the Chamber’s “Keep the Cheer Here” Campaign. To learn more about what is happening in Stoneham for the holidays, please visit stonehamchamber.org/keep-the-cheer-here.
