Melissa deFriesse has recently joined Stoneham Theatre as Director of Development. In this role she will work to create strategy and direct operations of all fundraising efforts for the Theatre.
Melissa is a graduate of Boston University’s Arts Administration program and brings years of non-profit experience. Her background includes managing comprehensive fundraising initiatives, including overseeing annual giving programs, managing special events, and more.
Melissa’s passion for the performing arts has been life-long. She grew up spending as much time as possible on stage, and studied Dance and Theatre Arts as an undergraduate at Springfield College. Melissa is a Dance Instructor at Miss Louise’s School of Dance in Woburn, and enjoys instilling enthusiasm for the performing arts within her students.
In her new role at Stoneham Theatre, Melissa is looking forward to engaging with the community and building support to keep the art of professional theatre and dramatic education thriving in the suburbs of Boston!
