On behalf of the Cooperative Credit Union Association, the Stoneham Municipal Employee Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the 2020 Massachusetts Credit Unions Student Essay Contest for seventh and eighth grade students.
Students in seventh and eighth grade are asked to write an essay in 250 words or less on the following topic:
“If you were the CEO of your local credit union, what would you have your credit union do to show that you truly believe in the “People Helping People” philosophy of the credit union movement?”
Eight winning essays will be chosen. The first prize winner will receive $500. The seven finalists will each receive $250. In addition to the eight winning essays, there will be several honorable mention winners who will each receive $50. There will be an awards ceremony to honor the contest winners in the spring.
Eligible students must:
• Be in the 7th or 8th grade
• Live in Massachusetts and attend a school in Massachusetts
• Be a member or have a parent/guardian who is a member of the Stoneham Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union
